Do you also like the idea of ad-free net that is controlled by megacorps, because only large entities will be able to monetize their content in ways that are not ad supported?

Do you also consider HN voting and flagging system to be nothing more than instruments of persuasion and control?

Yes, these people are trying to sell you their version of knowledge about neuroscience (nothing negative about that). There are too many online courses now and course creators have to compete for student's time and attention. And this

There is no such thing as "investor class". Also there is no collective "they" who comment on the economy, planned or not. It is not possible to generalize all or majority of investors into one box.

This phrase should be put down with a shot in a back of its metaphorical head. Whisper Systems, TOR, tox are free. Should we apply the same principle to those products? (I am not defending this shady VPN service)

Facebook engineers are elite. Earning six figure salary, FB perks, CA public infrastructure, weather and other factors combined create a very high quality of life. While I think that engineer wages should increase at the expense of corporat

Good. Intelligent and educated people should be actively intolerant of religion, superstition and ignorance. No respect should be offered to irrational, unfounded, faith-based beliefs.

Come on, really? Trying to portrait this as something sex related and partisan, really? I am from nowhere near the U.S. and consider D/R pretty much the same and I immediatly switched from Dropbox and stopped recommending it to anyone.

Wealth hoarding is mostly a hyperprophied survival instinct. The rational person would optimize for happiness, not wealth. The connection between those is not linear, see: http://blogs.wsj.com/wealth/2010/09/0

I agree with you in general, but you are not winning any loyalties to your idea with this attitude. Shaming a person and accusing of snobbery is a bad way to drive your point across. When I debate the social good aspect of entrepreneurship

Humans are prone to generalisation, reducing complex objects or states to several numeric parameters is extremely useful. Full of errors and generalization errors, but nevertheless usefull. Humanity will just have to build more complex mode

Look, you should dance with Google, not fight it. If your domain(sic!) was pessimized, you just upgrade your site, rewrite content, add more data and images and create a new domain. Then you concentrate on promoting your new website.

"Marketing people" is one of the most egregious generalization errors on HN. It's certainly in vogue to hate on marketers but it is not an identity, marketer is a hat that people wear. Just stop.

Heroku PaaS itself is proprietary. Their dashboard, monitoring and other tools are proprietary. PaaS services based on open source PaaS solutions (Deis + Docker, Flynn + Docker) and proprietary PaaS solutions ( Tutum + Docker, for example)

Okay, but what is the Heroku's endgame here? Their dynos are way overpriced and migrating from Heroku to Docker infrastructure(or other PaaS/IaaS combination) on the scaling stage of startup lifecycle could save $x0 000 and $x00 0

Yes, your arguments are convincing. However, Orchardup was acquihired by Docker itself and I am sure they are planning to provide container hosting. Tutum has just raised about $2M and are in the process of going gold with their service. Ye
