Interesting article, overall. Something occurred to me though: > "Dave expressed his enthusiasm for the material by asking a lot of very technical questions to the instructor. Largely, these questions seemed designed to show off his own

So how do you pay for medical bills when you or a spouse gets cancer and needs chemotherapy, or even something as basic as a root canal causing horrendous pain? Will all that fit in a 27k budget?

I want to co-exist with bikers, I really do. I wish our cities on the east coast would be more bike friendly. But bikers need to make up their minds. Who are they, vehicles or pedestrians? Each comes with it's own rights and obligations. I

I wouldn't say it's rubbish - but it's no great authority on communicating the proof itself, certainly. It is a good biography though, covering the roots in the Vienna circle and the disagreements with Wittgenstein. Edit: Thanks for posting

Not really. I'm just saying we don't go around all day doing logic-algebra in our head and saying only true, consistent things :)

At the very least a good course in discrete mathematics is a good start (it's also a good start for anything technical as well - one of the most valuable math classes anyone can ever take, as far as I'm concerned) Following that, a good cla

Be careful. That's a naive view, and drawing more conclusion than I think you mean. This it more like it: For any consistent, finite axiomatized formal system that is sufficiently expressive (such as the Principia Mathematica), you can cons

When I first became fascinated with incompleteness (following initial coursework in theory of computation), it kind of became my "religion" of sorts for a while. But as many mathematicians lament, the Incompleteness Theorem is one of the mo

Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed_timelike_curve I.e., "Closed timelike curves". I'm not expert in this matter, but it's a conceptual possibility that fits into general relativity.

This is a scam, I distinctly remember from my time playing this in the early nineties, that holding down the I + L + M keys all at the same time would give you full health, full ammo, and both keys. This doesn't have that!!!!
