I wonder if pushing 40k rows to mobile is such a bad idea. Phones have tons of space now. HD video streaming pulls tons of data. I guess mediocre mobiles complicate matters. Usually there are other factors making it implausible. Such as n

There is not one set of static requirements for lists. New UX paradigms are being invented all the time, which actually make things more usable. E.g. Think about Airtable vs Google Sheets. Also consider data sources and data binding. Do you

SWC uses napi-rs to talk to N-API. NAPI-RS's convention is to ship binaries as npm packages which should avoid a lot of the pain which came from having to download pre-compiled files from a file server. Compiling other platforms should

The Rust compiler is just swc which has been around as another project for ages. Checkout it’s home page. Many people are using it.

If you want to solve your problem do the VRM mod. And use a small desk fan. It’s easy and reversible.

NAPI-RS is another option to Neon. It’s faster and has a new feature in beta that automatically does the type wrapping for you.

Everyone should try to build their own pluggable framework at least once, to realize how difficult it is, and to realize how small design decisions can cause massive headaches. I think a lot of frameworks are the result of someone shipping

The big draw for me was the built-in introspection. E.g. https://docs.github.com/en/graphql/overview/explorer . An awesome way to access third-party apis. I can see it being useful at large organizations with

EdgeDB and EdgeQL are doing something in this direction. SQL with GraphQL for joining solves some problems. Built on top of PSQL. I think PSQL can only take you so far though, I think we will move to something new eventually. For most apps

Everything is just building blocks or layers on top of other technologies/paradigms making different trade-offs. You just have to figure out which features of which products compete with each other. That said, it involves a ton of read

I think this is a reason NoSQL became so widespread. If we stored every piece of data relationally, databases would have an insane number of tables, resulting in huge numbers of joins, and coupled with the difficulty in running migrations,

There are two kinds of throttling going on. CPU and VRM. CPU is normal - prevents CPU temps going above 100C. The issue is VRMs which have no cooling. And no public sensors. The fix is to add thermal pads to your VRM chips to dissipate the

Couldn't agree more. Debugger support in modern codebases has become a huge after-thought which is such a shame. It is an amazing way to discover how a codebase works. You pick a point of interest, and then you get the entire path from
