Green threads are cooperative threads. Preemption requires ability to handle hardware interrupts, which are typically handled by the OS.

There's no German manufacturer among the top 10 in offshore wind. Siemens business had started in Denmark (and was #2 there) and after merger with Gamesa is now headquartered in Spain, with a lot of technical facilities still in Denmar

They do, since 1980. Still not there though.

Putting aside the obvious distinction of labor vs office work, are you sure about this? Like, sure as in you have tried to find a stable, well paying job in any of those trades?

China buys the bulk of its precision machining capacity from Germany, Japan and Italy. Domestic designs are not up to snuff.

Denmark is also a leader in offshore wind power systems, so no it's not just pharma.

It's a noble motivation (and not even unrealistic in 2015 ) but what you'll get would still be generative output. If the only remedy is monitored end of term exams, so be it.

That "idea" part was always present in development but was the smallest and least skilled part in making a product. You now see it more prominently because the rest is getting eliminated.

Borges famously wrote there are only four stories, retold endlessly. I think this is an attempt to write a SF story in Lovecraftian mood (hence the language and setting). Lena is written as a hypothetical Wikipedia article.

Interesting. These however appear to be tie-downs of (PU-cast?) cable assemblies rather than running lacing. See e.g. p35 and on in https://standards.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/standards/NAS...

Do you folks still use cable lacing (cord) for deep space missions?

Perhaps someone could port Arc to Kawa! Then the whole contraption could run HN on SBCL in a roundabout way.

TAGBODY/GO are broadly used in advanced Lisp macros. If you expand a non-trivial extended LOOP invocation you'd likely see some. If you compile to an implemenation's assembler (even where that possible) you don't really

All metaphors are flawed. You may still need a degree of general programming knowledge (for now) but you don't need to e.g. know Javascript to do frontend anymore. And as labs continue to collect end-to-end training done by their best

That was the same thing with human products though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninety%E2%80%93ninety_rule Except that the either side of it is immensely cheaper now.

It's great for working on vintage equipment, stuff that might need (and warrant) that kind of repair. Less so if you run a cell phone repair shop.
