Sure, but hydro is a rather limited resource. This could allegedly scale way further.

Cobalt is becoming less and less important component of the batteries in the EV business. It's just not necessary, and can be replaced for example by nickel (and manganese) or iron (LFP batteries).

When it comes to these 100% new C64s, I kinda wonder about VIC-II (C64 video chip) and perhaps SID (sound chip). There might still be undiscovered VIC-II exploits. After all, it's not that long ago sprite crunching was discovered. Pe

Jay Miner wanted to have memory protection? That's... both crazy and amazing. Of course, sadly it wasn't feasible.

"ICE engine due to the rare earth minerals + Lithium involved." AFAIK, there are absolutely no rare earth minerals in lithium batteries used in vehicles. Perhaps I'm wrong? For the reference, here are all of the rare earth me

We need to figure out how to reduce long distance power transfer. Imagine a global power distribution network, the entire world could be 100% solar & wind. Perhaps one day...

SERV seems to be very comparable to a 6502 in size in terms of ASIC gates required. On an FPGA, SERV's implementation seems to be a times smaller.

µC performance doesn't always matter. Sometimes you need something that takes very little FPGA or ASIC space. This leaves more space for the actually important stuff. When performance does matter, you just use something speedier. More

Z80 was a bit... err 4 bit a like this. Used in for example Sinclair Spectrum, MSX, CP/M, Gameboy (although modified), TI-8x calculators, etc. had an ALU that computed 8 bit operations in two 4 bit slices. Edit: and now that I think ab

> Plenty of 12GByte laptops around, usually with 4 GByte soldered and 8 GByte added. Since almost all of the laptop CPUs are dual memory channel, this is pretty bad for memory bandwidth. In the best case, just 4 GB has half the bandwidth

I think I'll professionally "steal" some ideas from the article. :) RPI Pico's Programmable I/O is indeed great for high speed signals.

I think almost no one cares. While it's unlikely scaling continues to this level, I got this funny idea: eventually the marketing gate size might become smaller than a single atom!

Other than hyper-luxury brands, which manufacturer commands margins higher than Tesla's?

It's good to see something about this, because interrupts etc. have been a bit of a dark corner when it comes to RISC-V. Even better to hear there's nothing that specific.

Tesla's P/E is about 34 right now. If they had zero growth from 2022 Q3 for a year, then it's P/E be about 26 with the current stock price.

Alternative explanation could be they need to keep inventory levels low. In other words, not selling now could be also a logistics issue. Also like most large manufacturers, Tesla typically pays the subcontractors etc. only after the car is

Whenever it does launch, I'm hoping to see significantly more memory bandwidth. It's the achilles heel of the current Raspberry Pi 4 design. CPU and GPU are severely memory bandwidth starved.
