Are you suggesting Ukrainians don't have any agency? It's always someone else? That position sounds very weird. I think the most likely explanation is it's the Ukrainians defending Ukraine against Russia's unjustified in

The configuration is indeed daunting for a beginner. Perhaps one could set up some reasonable WinUAE (or whatever) configuration and use WHDLoad from the Amiga OS itself? You can have all the memory you want and mostly it works with a much

I have probably 1000 games in my Steam library. Played maybe 50 of those if that. Why? Earlier Humble Bundle subscription... And in addition I've bought so many bundles separately I've never played.

Arpeggio was everywhere, doable on pretty much any sound chip. I think what sets SID apart are things like high/low pass filters, finely adjustable PWM width and maybe even finely tunable pitch.

Weird there were no hires images. Amiga's horizontal hires resolution was >720 pixels. Of course, in order to get square pixels, you needed to enable interlace as well.

I wish people would take this more seriously and understand climate science has nothing to do with politics.

That’s like having extra configuration dependent ASLR on top! If carefully implemented the compiler and linker could omit code that the configuration didn’t require. Wouldn’t less code mean better security and performance?

FPGAs are way superior running a lot of parallel pipelined logic. They can have SERDES that can communicate at gigabits per second. You can build logic that reacts in nanoseconds to external I/O with zero jitter.

Last I checked, on Windows local TCP outperforms pipes by a large margin.

It's interesting how arbitrarily CPU bitness is defined. Sometimes it's the register size, sometimes data bus width and sometimes the address width. 6502 has 8 bit registers, 8 bits wide data bus, and 16 bit addresses. Only PC reg

I'd be more worried about Google just discontinuing another product. For example Stadia was similarly high profile, but it's gone now. More examples here: https://killedbygoogle.com/

VirtualBox just crashes all the time anyways. At least the few newest versions keep crashing when running Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 LTS.
