With all due respect, Apple is a US company, so giving preference to their homeland is hardly unconscionable.

This is true, but having to enable a GMail labs feature is a heck of a workaround for a simple UI issue. That's a bit like saying let's put this vase right next to this punching bag and don't worry, if the vase breaks, we've got some glue o

On a Mac you can hit CTRL-OPTION-CMD 8 to invert your screen. I do this often when I want to read with a darker background. It inverts everything so images look awful, but it is a really easy way to make some things easier to read.

I'm really excited about the iPad app. Imagine sitting down at a piano, putting a iPad where you would normally put sheet music, and playing away with your app auto-scrolling so the musician never has to deal with a page turn. Anyone who ha

Indeed. I think this also goes to show the low standard of quality of many news sources. The fact that something so preposterous could spread at all without any verification is expected from the masses, but when news sources start mentionin

One problem with having a software patent have a validity of seven years is that it often takes seven years or in some cases even more to get a patent through the USPTO. If a patent's validity is up before it is issued, it is pointless.

I wish more people would read the actual patent claims before coming to conclusions about them based solely on their titles. It seems that many news organizations have articles claiming this is a ridiculous lawsuit based on the titles which

The date Apple received the patent is very different from when they filed the patent, or even when they first came up with the idea. So in spite of the fact that it's a bit absurd, it is inaccurate to claim that anyone who had a lock screen

I highly disagree with you. The less roadblocks you put in the way of a customer purchasing something, the more likely you are to get a conversion. By this logic, Amazon's One-Click purchase would be a failure because people "expect" to hav

That will be useful for narrowing down the states, but it doesn't actually convert zip code to state. It just converts first digit of zip code to list of states to which it could apply.

I think many people are missing the fact that Apple saying Google's "Don't be evil" is bullshit does not imply that Apple claims they aren't being evil. That is a fallacy.
