Note that with std::execution, c++26 will have a default async runtime (similar to how C# has a default async runtime). This means that c++26 is getting a default coroutine task type [1] AND a default executor [2]. You can even spawn the ta

I probably should have mentioned Lua, you’re right. The big three for game dev is C++, C#, and Lua. C# is basically the midpoint between Lua and C++ which is why it’s so popular with game devs imo

Shoutout to the Pope Crave (@ClubConcrave) account on Twitter/X. They somehow went from a fandom account posting yaoi/BL content for the movie Conclave to an actual journalistic outfit who posted the results of the actual conclave

I know JSON is the standard now, but are there “better” serialization formats out there? Especially since JSON doesn’t know what an integer is in the spec

I would be excited to use but since it’s using GPLv3 I can’t actually use it for a lot of projects I’d want to make ;-; Is it possible to relicense to LGPL or MPL instead?

WebRTC is lowkey one of the most underrated technologies out there, ESPECIALLY WebRTC data channels. WebRTC data channels are basically “UDP on the web” but they have lots of controls to change how reliable they are, so they can be used as

SCTP is really cool, I first found out about it because it’s the basis for WebRTC data channels. It’s basically reliable UDP, but you can turn off the reliability if you want. Makes me wonder why QUIC exists when SCTP does…

Do you think Ada would be good for game development? My main interest in the new wave of low level languages like Rust, Zig and Odin is to see which one would be good for game dev. Out of all of them, the best would probably be Rust (great
