I have a gen 3 carbon x1 that is four years old and I still use it every day. Never replaced the battery and I still get 4-5 hours. It’s not powerful enough for dev work but perfect for web stuff and office.

I think it’s a combination. Apple is getting worse and microsoft is getting better.

The biggest problem with keychain for me is that it's only _your_ passwords. If you need to share things, then it's useless. 1Password is great for keeping logins for services that are in either mine or my wife's name. (Healt

If it's a work or school account it can be related to cache lifetime settings your admin sets on the accounts. At my company it's set to an infuriating two days, so every Monday I have to log back in with 2FA again...

I do this too. It’s worked well for me. I have three macs and six windows machines for work where I like to keep config in sync. I generally assume the scripts work (and they do usually still work, especially on windows). Until they break w

Don’t know. Seems absurd to me. There’s no way Sundar contributes 10x more value. Or anything even close to 200M IMO

It doesn’t make sense to me that Satya Nadella makes 10x less than Sundar Pichai. Last I saw Satya made about 20M and Sundar was making 200M. Given Microsoft performance vs google I don’t get it.

This is pretty awesome. Does anyone know if google or azure can scale to 40,000 cores on demand like that?

Completely true. Apple only cares about back-compact down to a few older major versions. So often the big projects (like modern apps, Windows 10 S, etc) Microsoft does fail or struggle to gain traction IMO because of the blessing and curse

This is incredible. MicroSD is so small! What is the theoretical limit of this storage medium? There must be a point where we can’t go any smaller?

Like you say, no one cares. It’s not a problem that’s in your face that you’re always seeing. It’s an abstract thing that people chose to ignore or are entirely ignorant of — to FBs benefit.

I don't get why this wasn't done for the Edge V1 rather than making a whole new browser. I felt like this was the clear choice back then.

This is social liberalism though! Creating programs for all to survive and thrive and have a shot at a decent life. It’s the same thing with the NIMBY (not in my backyard) movement. Everyone wants to complain about high housing costs, but a

I find a lot of criticism and hate of homeless people in our tech world. Which I kind of don’t get because a lot of tech people are quite liberal. I would expect a softer heart to follow as well as concern for these (and all) people.
