draw.io mostly, export as PNG and include the actual diagram XML within the PNG so it can be opened and edited. very rarely use mermaid, but good for some simple README/markdown style diagrams.

Mostly because of smearing and the direction of writing: left-hand writers "push" the pen more, while right-hand writers are "pulling" the pen more (not totally and not 100%)

I think a good part of this comes from how we often mention time: "It's half past two" is interpreted to mean: "it's at least half past two" If we round seconds, why not microseconds/etc? Ticking clocks
