I did enjoy the article. It was quite clear but it made me wish for a bit more. Unlike the Rust article I didn't see any thing that suggested how golang might be special. I did see your suggestions for further reading though. I'll

Since you used the word resisted, it sounds like you're suggesting that there is an existing demonstrable and falsifiable underpinning for one or more of the social sciences which has not been adopted. What would that be?

Not to take away from Dijkstra's brilliance but the problem with the narrative above is that Dijkstra wasn't part of the team that developed Algol 60 and that can easily be seen by the fact that his name is not on the Algol 60 Rep

No there's also how tarrifs affect export markets, among a few others, but that one hits pretty close to home for a lot of the really big ag operators.

I'm pretty sure that high performance open source CPUs will have their own obscure problems. Too much complexity, too many dependencies, too many possible feature interactions.

How long has solar been that competitive? Less than a decade. How much power infrastructure is there in the world--a huge amount. How long will it take to retire and replace all that infrastructure? Decades at best.

I won't argue the merits of COBOL. I stopped doing it for a living 35 years ago for a reason, but sort is not a good example. COBOL has generic SORT and MERGE facilities built in as verbs. In an IBM environment (i.e. writing real appli
