This bias is very apparent in most of western media. A Chinese software vendor could do as much as sending your keystrokes for autocomplete you bet it will be front page news on Reddit and here with every comment reminding me about Xinjiang

Sometimes I’d type out a correct spelling of a word and it’d correct it to another word that’s totally unrelated to the context of the sentence, like your Quake example. Infuriating when in a rush.

> pay less or none at all Maybe because there is always a free alternative that is better than yours. Whereas iOS users only has the App Store, and if they don’t pay they don’t get app.

Imagine buying a monitor and being forced to install the manufacturer’s app just to display stuff on it. Eh. No.

I fail to see how this is different from augmenting a website with Adblock and userscript. If you don’t want to leak info then don’t expose it on the API, private or not.

Your president gave a hint roughly 7 months ago. > “there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2"[1] > “We will bring an end to it.”[1] > “I promise you: We will be able to do it."[1] [1] https://m.youtube.com/

Well we’ve seen pilots with thousands of flight hours crash into the side of mountain or straight up commit suicide in the air. Humans are mentally fragile.

Not your server, not your data. Host your own mission critical services, and don’t commit too much to (especially free) third party services.

Have you tried initing or refreshing the filters? Adguard’s blocking is quite potent I.e. YouTube ads don’t play

Ad blockers blocks ads, it does not block bot detection scripts. Even if ad blockers did block bot detection, all the bot operator have to do is… not run any ad blockers on their puppets? Wizz Air’s explanation smells like bs.

It depends on what you want to self host. Low hanging fruits like cloud storage, web hosting, VPN are fairly easy to setup and self maintain.

China did not shrug and forced the development of local equivalents like a little more than a decade ago. And theyre now still painted as the bad guy for "censoring".

Why not use the native user profile function? E.g. set up a “user profile” dedicated to access only Meta/Facebook properties (and therefore only be able to track you within that container)
