Guess they’re running out of (fresh) content to feed to the ever increasing watchtime, and there is only so many video creators. Basically running out of videos to serve their ads alongside to.

You can get one from the US much cheaper. I got a 32GB 15Z90RT for $900 shipped from eBay.

This attack is called email amplification. Any open form that triggers email sending is vulnerable. Fortunately these bots are pretty basic in my experience, putting a captcha (or anything unexpected) in front is enough to stop these bots.

LG Gram SuperSlim. Very light (900grams). I once went hiking with it and forgot the laptop was still in the bag. But its really only capable of high performance in short bursts because of the extremely small thermal mass.

I don’t think those count as meddling with affairs. Those are like, daily business for an average American company.

Office and the entire Office 365 ecosystem is the true killer. Microsoft is so entrenched in enterprise it's almost scary. And they're still trying very hard to wedge themselves in with their AI offerings.

Intel Edison/Galileo didn’t work because everything they could do is replaced by purpose built ASICs, much cheaper at scale and energy efficient, important metrics for IoT. They were at best PoC material in the lab.

You can add foreign CCs to Alipay/WeChat, but you can't use it to add funds. Foreign CCs are also subject to a bunch of fees (network + card issuer + fx that seem to go up to 5%). There's no free lunch.

> "AI on the edge" and "IoT" nonsense again. I love it when my device stays dumb (or at least connect-local) and not become abadonware 6 months after release because the cloud provider felt it a chore to keep running.

Ain't fun spending $40 for a 'fun' project. ESP32 is like a dollar for WiFi and GPIOs. That's fun.
