Agreed. I’ve definitely already noticed a significant decline in comment quality here since the Reddit debacle.

I’ve checked it out a few times. It suffers from the same issue that tor suffers from: half of the content is stuff that’s been booted off the internet (and for good reason), and the other half is the equivalent of “hello world” pages. I ke

Agreed. I got a sodastream initially because my addiction to Diet Coke was becoming rather expensive with 2022 prices, and I grew bored of the syrups very quickly and just started drinking fizzy water. Now I almost never bother with soda or

I enjoy the taste of Diet Coke. Regular coke feels too sweet to me now. Coke Zero and Diet Pepsi is weird. I hate sugar alcohols. I dislike most foods with fake sugars. But Diet Coke for some reason is just addictive.

HN itself is run on a single server. So long as you’re not running something bloated or trying to host on a DSL connection, you’ll be fine.

Reddit was great for aimless scrolling, and its most recent incarnation was as close you could get to TikTok while still having text posts. Which meant that it got used the most while in the bathroom or while stuck somewhere - both phone us

I’m fairly certain that rephrased versions of “Study Proves Trump Voters have low IQ” are posted there just about weekly, and the rest is just psychedelic research. It’s one of the laws of the internet: as the size of a community grows, the

All used homes in the US are sold “as-is”. It’s caveat emptor doctrine. Now, there are laws against misrepresentation. There is a disclosure form that is required which asks you about defects. The seller can admit them or decline to answer,

The problem with scaling up manufacturing is that the US needs to manufacture here, now . What good is importing a polish missile when Wagner is so close to the factory that they can almost make it out if they squint? It’s not like Poland

Doesn’t matter. War will always be fought over resources. If we didn’t have batteries and electricity we’d be fighting wars over lumbar and coal. We were genociding people over bananas not very long ago, lest you forget.

I agree, small, low slung manual cars let you have fun without breaking too many laws. You can’t do that with modern cars anymore. I took a c7z for a test drive. Took it sideways going ~75mph, but the car was completely numb and unfeeling.
