Reading awk as a human is hard too. And performance of awk is crap. A lot slower than most interpreter language out there. I had replaced all the awk scripts in python and everything is a lot faster.

All of those are easier in Python or Ruby or Javascript. And all of those languages have done thing properly to make you code lesser , better with lesser errors and better performance. Thats why PHP become a dinosaur. > not exactly dock

I think commenter means that the browser should not be running the interpreter . Browser -> Wasm Running Python Interpreter -> Interpreting Python -> Rendering HTML if there is output. Look how complicate it had become.

You have a wrong understanding of self hosting. SES is not self hostable and require to depend on close source paid service. So this just makes an opensource email UI not platform
