Metaverse was an obvious failure, but Quest is a huge success in the VR/AR market. They managed to create high quality products without it becoming overpriced novelty items (eg Valve Index, Vive, Apple Vision), while being an open ecos

This is an area where mRNA immunization can be very effective. I hope that this can be widely deployed in the next years, it can make a real difference. Something that also has great potential is the use of phages, that should definitely re

What would be more interesting is installing Windows from a Linux live boot environment. It could actually be very useful to have a custom open-source Windows installer like that, with customization options and repositories with community-m

Definitely. The Liberalism of today is rooted in secular Hedonist ideas, while Conservatives overwhelmingly support Judeo-Christian principles. This is evident by for example the fact that Liberals largely support recreational drug use whil

TikTok is concerning. With it's data and algorithms it could be used as a very effective tailored propaganda machine in theory. Given that China is a communist dictatorship with a thing for propaganda, and where government is always

Elon will definitely relaunch Vine if the opportunity presents itself here, but in a more similar style to TikTok. It could very well become the top popular alternative if TikTok were to become unavailable.

You don't need Intune, that's a fancy cloud thing to manage lots of machines. You can manage permissions on a local machine using Local Users and Groups (lusrmgr). Also get either uBlock Origin or Brave Browser with shields.

Honestly, if you're remotely interested in installing this then just get an Android phone and get real side-loading. AltStore is more like a franchise of the App Store where Apple is still in charge, but doesn't directly run it. W

I've posted this recently on another post as well, but before AI-generated spam there was content farm spam. This has been increasing in search results and on social networking sites for years now. The solution is sticking to the websi

Definitely. It applies to multiple levels as well. The massive adoption of banking cards created the expectation that you use one, which then caused cash to not be universally accepted everywhere anymore. Now it's expected that you use

I will definitely bookmark this. I've been meaning to try out NixOS. It seems like a really interesting alternative to using containers for deploying servers. Both much simpler and much more powerful.

I'm just observing until there's a Stable Diffusion 1.5 equivalent of music generation. Open license, under 8GB of VRAM, large communities for sharing fine-tuned models, plugins like ControlNet, etc. Then this AI music generation

AFAIK this is just Apple-approved apps, just through another app and servers. How does this change anything ? Apple still has full control over what apps users can install. There is no side-loading. They still need to approve every app on

Suno is pretty cool. If I had to guess this uses Suno's Bark and Facebook's MusicGen? The output of the latter is used as conditional layers for the prior similar to ControlNet? Anyway, what will be interesting is when this can be

If the internet were to go down, experts (perhaps like yourself) would definitely work on building local IP networks for their local communities. The cool thing is that with P2P tech like BitTorrent, you can have edge nodes connected to mul
