Ah nice, I had no idea. Then if I was somehow forced into using iOS I'd probably try that first.

Glad you brought that up, I was actually going to suggest not to replace KDE Connect but rather to become interoperable with it because AFAIR (but didn't touch an iPhone for few years now) there is no iOS client for it.

What's even more maddening is that I bet their "app" is actually a WebView and provides no native functionality.

Fair enough not to want to get involved but seems problematic for 2 reasons : - code gets re-regenerated over and over again, so waste of resources - no signal back upstream that it is indeed a genuine need that is in fact so important some

Well that is a different setup that what I mention but thanks for indeed highlighting how they are not the same. FWIW houses in Tuscany with very strict rules, e.g. you don't even get to pick the color of your own house, manage to get

Very strange take, you can buy an airco unit in the EU today get it delivered tomorrow morning and, assuming it's the portable kind that just need to be plugged and exhaust outside, have it running right away. For more permanent ones y

FWIW I tried it shortly after it launched so a bit after ~2005, maybe 2007 because I read about and honestly found the prospect, from a dataset creation or improvement, quite interesting. I think I heard about it from a research paper that

Yep... was on the countryside for the Summer in places so small they didn't even have a bakery, which in France matters. What did they have though? Optic fiber, high bandwidth, low latency, reliable and for a very low price. Honestly I

Sad for the project but unsurprising knowing how much SpaceX (sigh) relies on xAI which it mostly a shelf for a neocloud bootstrapped precisely from Twitter/X as a dataset. I imagine they will legally fight to close as much as possible

Tricky to make predictions based on costs or quality when the costlier parts, training and inference, are totally disconnected from reality thanks to VC money and when total cost of ownership over time is radically different.
