Tired of that trope, I already wrote it before but "Those who can accept failure cheaply: firms that would otherwise hire interns, firms involved in rapid prototyping work, etc." is not correct. I won't comment on hiring inte

If you are interested in the topic I suggest joining the Discord, it's a pretty active place. I have few rooted Quests, only some Quest2 still left unrooted.

Isn't that assuming that fix won't be implemented? Zero days are valuable because they can be exploited but if the pace of exploitation is faster (which I'm not sure is the case), then the response WILL be faster, even if it

No I don't think angular resolution does justice to the comparison either because you are in 6DoF, not in 3DoF. It is a used measure and sure it's better than just resolution but it does not capture the actual situation of the use

Damn there is a whole ecosystem around that, e.g. https://ultimatemister.com to buy it all built, very neat.

At this point if you don't care at all for the book itself as an object just buy an xteink-x3 with CrossPoint or PocketBook then install Koreader.

I'm not sure what you mean by monitor resolution but if you mean comparing the screen real estate you have in e.g. 32" flat area in an HMD versus a modern monitor it's both correct and irrelevant. Yes a relatively affordable

Out of curiosity do say this after trying with a recent e.g. Vision Pro or Quest 3 and finding that resolution itself (not inputs, UX, ergonomics, etc) is the limiting factor for work and if so what use case?

Quest 1, all firmwares, Quest 2 and 3 on some non latest hardware, can already be rooted, so that's not the bottleneck.

I'm an idiot really... based on the title I though it was a chart solution to establish a discussion, with... actual people . I was starting to imagine a shared pointer, a way to interact with a notebook, a la Observable, with the dat

Great to explore alternative interfaces and repurpose existing hardware without having to rely on the manufacturer implementation. Have you considered providing GadgetBridge support? I don't see anything on https://codeberg.

You can do that without bands since 2019 with the Meta Quest. Hand tracking and (for that old one only black & white) video pass through is enough, no need to additional hardware.

I don't think anybody would take a flight to Brazil to see an Amazon shop and vice versa. In this specific case though as others pointed out there are already a lot of products on that specific segment with that name.

Agreed but tbh it's not fair, nobody is even typing 8hrs/day. FWIW it's very to test by the way, pick a random XR demo support hand tracking and you will see it's not that tiring. It doesn't mean it's useful th

Yep, and IMHO that's why eye tracking even though is amazing when it does work is still very limited. We do a lot of small things without even realizing and stopping to do movements we are not aware of is very very hard.

IMHO inertia isn't the biggest factor, training requirement is. I switched recently from mouse to touchpad and ... next day my great ergonomic mouse was basically in a drawer. Meanwhile when I tried to use Tap Strap the first step was

Consider also Tap Band then. I worked a bit with Tap Strap on XR and without but in my experience once you master a keyboard nothing comes close while manipulating text, e.g code.

Indeed as it helps to give more meaningful feedback. Somebody in [HUMAN-CODE] might appreciate suggestions on the code but not care as much about business whereas [AGENT-CODE] probably prefers the other way around.

I'm not advocating for touchless smart devices, I'm advocating for optional interface we can use to operate our appliances without having to rely on the manufacturers app and/or server.
