exactly. I would personally never trust an Uber self-driving car, specifically because I've lost trust in the company itself.

I'd say that miles driven is a good normalizer. In fact, NHTSA statistics includes miles driven under adverse conditions (rain, snow, etc) while I'd bet that this is not the case for Uber.

When Stamos left Yahoo, I assumed it was because of the leaked accounts information. I wonder if he saw similar compromises at Facebook that were not disclosed.

Different user agents are used for desktop vs mobile pages for the same browser, so a single user agent is not a viable solution now.

Nice and clean! I wonder if it requires a lot of tweaking to make it work with letter (it might be as trivial as changing ``paper=a4'' in the cls.) If so, it might be worth the author's time to generalize it.

It is not a political view to support that women are inferior, wrt tech, at Google. Whether he may be a conservative or liberal is irrelevant to me and to the discussion.

Damore wasn't fired because he is a conservative. He was fired because he thinks women are inferior wrt tech and was very vocal about it.

Uber has bad connotations in my head. To be honest, I'd rather Google didn't hold a stake at it.

I don't think I've come across any report that states that other crime has increased in EPA. What is your source ? Incidentally, I think that declining crime rates are, among other things, also a sign of a ``clean'', eff

At the risk of oversimplifying, I believe increasing crime rate is a good proxy for police corruption. As an example, East Palo Alto in CA was the crime capital of the country back in the 90s. Then a police force that included parties from

There are definitely somewhat mature DIY alternatives such as LitePlacer [1] and there is ongoing effort towards an open-source software stack for PnP machines [2], but for this area to really pick up, sub-$500 kits are probably necessary.

For completeness: The number of possible sets that include 4 numbers from the range [0..15] is (16+4-1) choose 4, or 3876. Let's assume that our set is (a, b, c, d). It is ordered, therefore a <= b <= c <= d. For example, a va

Using CGI is silly and slow, for all but the simplest, stateless servers. If one wishes to avoid the overhead of learning a new framework, at least FastCGI should be considered. A relevant (but dated) discussion about web frameworks in C++

I have no opinion about the quality of this book, but just by looking at the contents, it has almost nothing to do with computer science. It doesn't deal with computing models, theory, algorithms, automata, or anything you'd expec
