Yeah, but they pay for the web results

That's not personalization, that's query classification. Of course Bing already does this. What is the personal, private information they could be monitoring for, that would allow them to rewrite better than Bing ?

Seems like the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 would do the trick.

DDG cannot provide personalized results, because the service they are using to get results (from Bing) does not provide that feature.

Full assembly. Was this the case all the way up to 6.22 ?

It would be great for practicing songs. In this scenario you would be clicking on the instrument to turn off.

This pointer manipulation is fine. GCC simply optimizes the parameters for printf(): https://godbolt.org/z/AHY7Nd *x will be 7 in the end.

These videos are fascinating! Do you mean that you saw the ClickSpring reconstruction in person, or the Antikythera mechanism at the museum of Athens ? If it is the former, how far is it from being complete ?

Naturally. This would be more accurately described as the first mechanical calculator.

Beautiful device, but not the first calculating machine by a long shot. That would be the antikythera mechanism [1]. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism

Although I haven't seen it, this seems to be an interesting documentary: This was a very motivated crew to build a case against Google and Facebook. If there is any sort of proof for their claims, they would had found it. If not, the d

Yes, of course! They have little to lose compared to Google, which has _everything_ to lose. Lack of personalization is not a "feature" that DDG implemented. It is a lack of feature that they had to justify. The results that they

I don't think it is just a re-skinned Bing, the people behind DDG have done a lot of work to built features around the "10 blue links." The question is: Do you trust a trillion dollar company, with everything to lose if it is

DDG was built on Yahoo! BOSS, which was backed by Yahoo search engine results until Yahoo switched to Bing (almost 10 years ago.) So, if we are insisting on being accurate, SSG's main backend is Bing.

My point is: Bing also personalizes results and has 20% of the US desktop traffic. Did you ever see DDG advertizing that Bing is tracking you ?

Instead of advertising that their quality is better in some way, they employ FUD to say that Google is bad because they tailor their results to the user. Notice how it's always Google that is under attack and never Bing, which has 20%
