This kind of products bothers me. At >$1400, they are clearly a money-grab on the back of the very innovative and vibrant diy keyboards community.

A friend got me hooked on PE by pointing me to #208 many years back. Lovely problem, recommended fun time. I wonder if folks here have favorite problems they've worked on as well.

Too close to the ground; that's what "killed" Sinclair's version of it.

Actually, the whole part was added by the actor, not just the last metaphor.

Apple's net profit was $57.41bn in 2020 [1] and that 15% is of course pure profit. 26% of Apple's profit comes from Google. [1] https://www.statista.com/statistics/267728/apples-net-income...

If anyone is wondering why QuickSort's video is longer than BubbleSort's, notice that "swaps" in QSort are done in linear time (i.e the dancers are walking to their swapped positions) instead of constant time.

Perhaps the most beautiful part of the mechanism is the modelling of the motion of the Moon, which Chris describes in minute detail [1]. [1] https://youtu.be/v19cu2hj2Ms

Cool project! You could also have used a 2 Axis Brushless Gimbal Stabilizer for most of the mechanics stuff, coupled with either your Garmin Lidar Lite module, or a 360 degrees Lidar module.

You can't help but be entertained by the amount of plagiarism that exists. A while back I found out that one of my papers [1] was being sold as a final year thesis via ..a video ad on YouTube [2]. [1] https://ieeexplore.ieee

Indeed, nero (νερό) is water in Greek, as is hydor (ύδωρ). Mavro Nero (μαύρο νερό) translates to black water.

I disagree. Taxation of the form that the parent comment suggested, where the same property that has been legally taxed in the past is now taxed again without having participated in the economy, is both unethical and theft.

That seems to imply that whatever is legal is also ethical. If a law is passed that states that if your name is Jeff Bezos then you should submit 100% of your property to the state then it might be legal but it's still stealing. It see

You pick the car with 1/3 probability and a goat with 2/3. If you picked the car and switch, you lost. If you picked a goat and switch, you win because the only other door left has the car. The problem is simple to reason through.
