Why do right-to-repair bills always have these kinds of exclusions? These are pretty important categories.

There it is, the "Just pay for YouTube" person inevitably shows up like usual on HN YouTube threads. OP addressed this already: "But then again - it is mostly crap so why bother. Perfectly fine with less YouTube in my life.&q

A lot of arrogance to automatically assume any other country is in a worse position without any information. What if the person was posting from China on a VPN? How would the statement remain true then?

Yes, let's mention the middle class squeeze, but also conveniently not talk about America's tipping culture problem which would increase reluctance to sit down at a restaurant. Yes, let's completely ignore that. Everyone obvi

LOL thanks for the laughs. But yes seriously though, most kinds of data analysis jobs several rungs down the ladder where the result is not in a critical path amount to reaffirming what upper people believe. Don't rock the boat.

Do you mean to say funding impacted chemistry/chemical engineering at UC Berkeley a lot? Berkeley's chemistry majors have always been top in the nation, and there is a "College of Chemistry", separate from the other scie

Is there a reasonable scenario where enough people vote "no" here? It seems unlikely, so a nuanced discussion where pros and cons are considered seems more productive. Seems like a yes/no vote makes more sense if there is act

Can you explain? I must have the wrong impression, but isn't nuclear-related work specifically in the USA a declining or dying industry? Are there really plenty of jobs when Americans keep posturing away from nuclear? I knew no one fro

This way of thinking has been debated for a long time. It's not clear or self-evident doing it the way you describe is the best way to handle things. Sure, it's more self-righteous and sounds good on paper, but does it really hold

That's... very optimistic. What evidence until now exists points to that outcome? You don't think they'll prefer the lazy route of targeting the Chinese companies themselves to avoid the real conversation?

My point is we're different types of users, or our expectations are different. "A safe bet" is not 4.5 stars to me, it's 3 stars because average restaurants should be safe bets. I believe anything 4.5+ should be home run

You're correct on this. Tabelog users center hard around 3 stars which is considered the real average. Users on sites like Yelp and Google Maps skew toward an average of 4.5 or 5 for what is considered a standard experience. This makes
