True, but I'd like to mention that these are still valid options for companies and teams. Not to mention that latency will inevitably be superior with a local server. I'm not sure there's a way around it. Skype is pretty mu

But did you _actually_ try the alternatives? I've been using mumble for more than a decade now, and I've pushing it into 3 working places as a substitute to skype, asterix and lync (the microsoft voip solution). It's not real

I can only comment on the specific llvm case, but I cannot say "it works" without listing the fact that I have to keep ~5-6 versions of llvm around _exactly_ for that reason. You cannot compare an OS, or in general any product whi

In countries with such massive inflation, distrust and unstable currency, doesn't cryptocurrency actually offer a big advantage/escape over the status quo? I assume this doesn't happen because network access isn't pervas

Well, whatever Intel has been doing, they're just successful as merging their codebase. It doesn't mean the driver is stable though. The KMS/dri driver itself certainly has _major_ unsolved issues since basically forever. The

I tried one of their few demos, and all the interaction is incredibly laggy. Arguably pretty, but not something I would ever use for work (FF50 on i7!).

For what I see, the first and foremost initiating factor for a statistical package is education, and second it's available methods/packages. You have universities where you can clearly see that the predominant taught package is St

There's actually Jupyter. Then there's a julia backend for ess as well. I'm using R regularly, and I couldn't care less for R-Studio. In our stat group, only 1 statistician out of 7 is using R-studio, while all of them a
