I would up the internal SSD to 256 minimum. You'd be surprise how fast the hard drive space is going to be used up between programs/apps, along with everything else you use.

First, congratulations for being admitted to both. That said... 1. I was an undergraduate student at Stanford and the Ph.D program (experience) is vastly different than that of an undergrad so with that, take this bit with a grain of salt.

Open source works great for developers for many reasons. On the flipside, rarely does it benefit a designer (although not always true). 1. It exposes a programmer's code work for all to see. If it's bad, you get more than just critique. Oth

I don't see an issue with the way they're running it now. Operating it as a corp would come with its own list of headaches and I'm not sure that's the goal they have in mind. Plus making all investors shareholders doesn't sound like a good

For .com, .net, .org, and .info, I like Fabulous.com. For everything else, namecheap is a good alternative. HOWEVER, I wouldn't use them or Godaddy for hosting or DNS or anything else. If you're fine with Godaddy as a registrar, use an alte

With only two courses left, why bother transferring? You don't even know if all the courses will transfer correctly assuming you do get accepted. I don't get the logic behind this move?

Unfortunately that's not very representative. The stuff Stanford have listed are pretty intro courses and do not represent all types of CS courses you'd encounter

Then perhaps you lack the fundamentals of business altogether. If there is one rule I have had to repeat to so many (and only god knows why this even needs to be said) is that YOU do not represent everyone. Everyone is DIFFERENT and because

If you're like me, half the time (at the very minimal), you'll be using your laptop at home on a desk. Personally I use the bluetooth apple wireless keyboard (exact size as the laptop keyboard with no numpad) BUT I also own the full size ke

That's not always true. Most of the startups I've seen get funded are not always that interesting to me. Interest is in the eye of the beholder and for people looking to work at a startup whether as a career choice or for experience before

I would have to agree here. I can't remember the last time I even touched the numeric keypad even though I have access to one. OP, I think only a minority of users would want a numeric keypad...

I completely disagree with Robert Scoble. If anyone has ever attended a TC50 or TC Disrupt event AND Launch, it's like a day and night comparison. While I don't have exact numbers, TC events were by far much MUCH more crowded both in the de

While I strongly agree that no product is ever finished and improvements can always be made, I do want to make a statement in regards to a comment you've made in reply about "more to add". Sometimes improving means removing as well and some

This is 100% dependent on the type of extension you're building out. Without knowing more about the nature of the extension, it is extremely difficult to recommend a proper monetization model. Who are the target audience? Is there a built-i

1. It is common place as f'd up as that is. 2. A lot of times, for higher level positions, it'll catch on fast and it's not uncommon for people to be let go. 3. As to whether or not you should let the company no, this part is tricky. The ri
