Another poster mentioned the BOM link, it's 6 NEMA 17s of various torque ratings.

So, when they say [1]: Films on this site can be streamed free of charge, or downloaded for your personal use for a small fee. They just omit/forget/ignore the fact that you (I guess) have to be in Canada for that to work? Som

Meta: I did not post this ... I wonder if I managed to post to HN with my phone in my pocket? Rather interesting/scary thought, account breach would not seem like a reasonable thing either, though. :/ Weird.

Probably because it does not consider those to be core questions. WebAssembly [1] is not new. [1]: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebAssembly

Nice and detailed, thanks! As a struggling Rust n00b it's instructive with these kinds of walk-throughs. Found a typo: "[...] and the program counter will be implemented." -- the last word qouted should be "incremented&q

Someone here. Great to see this being more widely/deeply described. It looks very capable, interesting choice with onboard Ethernet switch. Would be so much fun as a games console, but I guess even at this size programming the GPU bare

Didn't know that, and I thought I had a fairly close eye on the STM32 family. Thanks! A poster above mentioned that STM32MP2 has been announced, even.

Uh in case someone doesn't know. Stevie Wonder is blind. Having him test a non-tactile instrument is non-obvious at best. Obviously he has a couple of metric tons of experience as a musician so can probably make a potato sound interest

I wonder what material is this. Maybe old fishing nets and random plastic trash, considering its all recovered from beaches? Heh. Nah, perhaps hay/grass? Not sure what acts as a binding agent, either.

You are probably aware, but replacement PSUs are fairly widely available [1]. I am no EE but I would be very surprised if they are linear. [1]: https://www.c64psu.com/

Meta: the actual main content is video, the article is mainly a meta piece about what an USB protocol analyzer is, and when you would want one. I did not watch the video (yet) but the article is pretty nice too as an introduction to the top

Awesome. I just wish they could do some deal and release an RP2042 with, uh, maybe 1 MB of onboard flash for $1.

Uh, non-native question: what is the word "class" doing in the title? Is a hyphen missing, so it should be "750 MHz-class"? I searched the linked page but the word only appears in the title, sans hyphen.

Wait what there is no integer division instruction? That sounds very weird and [1] disagrees by describing SDIV and UDIV. What? [1]: https://developer.arm.com/documentation/den0024/a/The-A64-in...

As someone growing up coding Amiga demos and (mostly unreleased) games, I share this dream. There is the Commander X16 [1] but it's "too 8-bit". On the microcontroller side I was very excited about the STM32U599 [2] but it se

Original C compilers only guaranteed comparing up to 6 characters in an external symbol, which I think is part of the reason why many nanes are so short.

I used XML/XPath/XQuery in the early 2000s to define a custom binary protocol. It was so fantastic to have a single source of truth, and use transformations to generate both document (spec) and C serialization/deserialization

But what is the actual point of clinging to C89 for a game like this? Do you expect to port it to obscure DSP platforms? Note: I freaking love C and often defend/advocate it here and elsewhere. I just don't understand why anyone w

There is no solid standard, since it's C we're talking about. I would kind of agree that lower case is more common. More weirdly (from reading the header [1], I have not worked with raylib) the public types and function names are
