I'd say the 16, but with a caveat. By itself it is a great machine. In clamshell mode with an external 4k screen it is a great machine. With the laptop screen open connected to an external 4k screen it is EXTREMELY noisy and hot. ~173

This one has been wonderful for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BOTvaRaDjI He runs through them pretty fast, but someone in the comments recommended playing it at 0.75x speed and that works great.

Would be great with better builtins for this. I use yabai and skhd, but have to disable SIP to utilize fully. The instant spaces switching with no animation is so good!

Agreed! I found learning Elixir to be a great gateway to learn Erlang as well. When I first tried learning Erlang (before Elixir was released), it became a bit too much to wrap my head around. It was a lot easier when I had gotten the funda

I’d be fine with having an eGPU at the office actually. That’s where the noise gets most out of hand and annoys my coworkers. It’s just a bummer to sink even more money into this machine.

Interesting! Thanks for the link. Not one of my coworkers is getting the 16 after hearing how noisy it is, and they ALL were planning on upgrading. Let’s hope a future software update might improve it.

I bought the MBP 16” and when I work with an external monitor it’s like having a hair dryer on. I wish I could just go back to a desktop machine again.

That's what I'm replacing with the 16" now. I work with external displays and the Intel Iris is the weak link for me. Other than that I've been really happy with the 2015 13"!

I've built some stores for clients with Shopify's Slate[1] tool, which was a better dev experience than I had expected. I was pretty surprised and disappointed to see that they put it in "low maintenance" mode while stil

I bought an Awair some months ago, having been diagnosed with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and slightly freaking out, I wanted to have a bit more data on my living conditions. It measures PM2.5, VOCs, humidity, CO2 and temperature. Luckil

We build it in Docker, but copy the release tarball out of the container and upload it directly to our servers.

From the introduction document: [1] > Spaces currently supports v2 of pre-signed URL functionality. Tools and libraries that only support v4 of pre-signed URL functionality will not work. I had really hoped this would be in place for the

I usually check in on open source projects I use and see what is going on in the issues and pull requests tabs on github. Almost every time I check, there is someone behaving in a rude and/or entitled way. Some of these projects have i

It's sad to see some people get defensive and try to pit this as a "europe vs the US" thing, even bringing up the Utøya tragedy and Breivik. The article is just click bait, and sensationalism at its worst. "Texas" i
