That's a shame because you could get an essentially one-instruction program loop: jmp loop CE shows this happens on opt-level=1 which is neat. Of the weird breakages this takes the case! https://godbolt.org&

I don't think people responsible for making those decisions are always adept at calculating what those costs are, and they aren't always empowered to make the fiscally sound choice.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. In no language is it sound to mutate the same data in parallel or to read it while it is being mutated. Synchronization primitives are needed by all languages to deal with this fundamental trut

I've seen this "tiered" system at multiple Fortune 1k companies - did it come from SV or something? Or is this because of Google? I think it's just a consequence of scale - once you are a single tenant to a building and

Deliveries take warehouses, truck drivers, ports, and air travel. Especially for things from China. I've already tried buying some stuff I'd normally get at a store from Amazon and the lead time was questionable.

I understand that there is critical work to be done by contractors at the pentagon, but I also don't lose sleep over lost productivity of those in the business of death. There's also some irony here now that I think about it. ARPA

Depending on your build environment, a well cooled, high core count and fast CPU (so i9/3800x or higher), plenty of fast RAM (32GB @ 3600MHz) and NVME drives will shorten your write/build/debug cycles immensely. Building a ma
