I read it as "DNS software changed, that worked fine, but it turns out we sometimes generate a broken database - not often enough to see it hit during canary, but devastating when it finally happened" GP also notes that this datab

What's the security risk? A prototype can only be modified by code that is actually being run. If you can get someone else's application to run code under your control, you've already won.

There was a time where the 'hackers' where in the minority for IRC, basically the time where IRC was replacing BBS-es, FIDO and phone/teletext based chat solutions but before ICQ was a thing, and AIM/AOL was never a real

We're talking about IRC, right? Joining a random channel in the 90's would pretty much have 'A/S/L?" as a standard greeting..

The annoying part is that now that '-' stands for '/', you need to use '\x2d' for '-'. Which is pretty annoying when manipulating mount names during the shell. I wish they had picked ':'

Wasn't it because Kay Sievers was a major developer on both udev and systemd? I can image someone thinking then "I'm implementing everything twice, both for udev and systemd. I'll just merge them"

Keep in mind that the code has to compile for checks to work. Eg a ‘let’ in the same script block will break the isIE check too and it’s easy to miss that someone broke it. How often does the ie11 code get tested on ie11.. Best to keep the

How many of these 3DS failures switch to an alternative payment method? A drop in EU e-commerce sales between 20% and 50% would be big news we wouldn't have missed, so where are these sales going ? Or are these transactions still a tin

Part of the problem is that AWS billing is soo slow to update. This doesn't only hit budgetting... trying to get all the costs to go the proper billing tags (and verify that you found them all) also requires test cycles of up to 2 days
