It's similar to lasso where the Laplace distribution is decomposed using a gaussian mixture scaled with an exponential/gamma distribution. In group lasso, there is one variance term per group which is generated by the exponential&

Funny enough, I just finished my PhD in December 2019. It's been hard getting interviews in the bay area (I want to stay close to family with older parents). I have great academic credentials but somehow I can't signal that to rec

Using highly optimized code for that system size, I used to get ~500 ns per day using a single 2080. Some references: 10^-3 ns - Hydrogen bond vibrations, 100+ ns - Protein side chains moving, 1000 - 10000 ns is the timescale of protein fo

It is strange that their academic output isn't on par with some of the more prominent bio-molecular simulations research groups. But I don't know much about their internals, perhaps, they're leasing a good bit of computer tim

Not laid off but I did just finish my PhD in computational biophysics and the three companies I was interviewing at paused/stopped interviews. I was frugal during my PhD but I decided it was best to move back in with my parents in San
