Usually what happens is: 1. "We got it all working in the notebook" 2. "Great, ship it" 3. (data scientist takes the notebook code almost verbatim, wraps it in a basic CLI or HTTP API and it gets shipped off in a docker

I've mostly seen the opposite - pandas and jupyter notebooks shipped directly to production because the data scientists and AI guys didn't know how to do anything but python. As a result, the solutions were not performant and ofte

So wait, if I donate $1000 to a creator via iOS app, Apple takes $300? That can't be right, can it? Seems like literally robbery.

If you read almost any literature taking place the first half of the 20th century, you'll see that a lot of industries were highly abusive of workers, not just radium industry. I'm sure it's even worse pre-20th century. For e

I'm not confident a "cheap server" (like a $5/mo DO droplet) would be able to withstand being on the front page of HN, but I am pretty confident a GH pages page could withstand being on the front page of HN.

To be clear, I do like the type-checking benefits of TypeScript, but it requires some discipline to keep it simple. Get one unchecked TS astronaut on the team and the TypeScript can get complex and esoteric very quickly.
