Your workouts aren’t that strenuous. So you don’t need rest and recovery. If you are pushing past your limits, you won’t even have the desire to code in the evenings.

Wittgenstein would say language matters more. So changing language does change norms.

Computer science and software development are very different fields. Leetcode asks more CS type questions, but that doesn’t meant you’ll be a good software dev. In fact, the same qualities that make for a great computer scientist are also t

Yeah but you still used a simile, you just used one that you like more, more fitting to the time. But you’re still using a literary device to increase the clarity of “struggling against the abuse of language”. What these guys are arguing is

Well those two paragraphs you quoted have similes in them, hyperbole, slang, and characterization. Sure, my off the top example is lame but that’s not my point. You’re saying that they’re rarely used, almost never, yet those paragraph you q

There’s a philosophy of science and a philosophy of art, like there’s philosophy of physics and math. I think it’s more about the practice of asking the hard questions, in whatever field they may be. I think they’re equating philosophy and

“It follows that any struggle against the abuse of language is a sentimental archaism, like preferring candles to electric light or hansom cabs to aeroplanes“ Removing the simile reduces the meaning of “sentimental archaism”. Similes clarif

I agree about jargon and such but PG writes without any literary devices at all. Don’t you think that’s going too far? “That dude is sneaky” “That dude is sneakier than a fox” Why cut out fox?

Actually, poetry frowns on purple prose too. Hence the “prose” part. But you can’t call adjectives and similes and metaphors all purple prose.

I’m sort of saying two things, that’s what I get for playing devils advocate. That’s how they’re getting away with it, by not interrupting content. I don’t think the masses are bothered by ads unless it interrupts their subscription content

To play devils advocate, without ads and DRM stuff, how are artists supposed to make money? Another point is that you can’t expect to get that caliber of TV for that price without ads. If you don’t want ads, don’t buy the TV. Not that TV an

Docs are good. Not the best but definitely better than average. If there’s an arguments for the use of frameworks, it’s gotta be this. Looks like you either write a game or you write a game engine, but you can’t do both. Well I’m pumped. I’

Sweet, I missed that somehow. I still think a free tier would be nice though. It’s not a huge pain in the ass to setup looks like, but still...I bet they’d be more popular if they did.

I like the game, reminds me of “Joust” On the tutorial, I’d advise cutting into sections. Easier to read, you can go more in depth for each section, you get more posts out of it. Nakama looks really good. Is 600 really the cheapest pricing?

I don’t know, I think wikis work great. It’s just that writing docs is a lot of work, and like people mentioned here, info decays. People do without internal docs for the same reason they ship without tests, Pareto principle. And writing is

I would take out the IDE stuff today. They can handle dynamic languages really well now. On the front-end, types are just too cumbersome, especially if you’re doing Agile and demos are part of the workflow. So many changes, it’s a total dra

Im on that side too. Just make all singles free. The album can cost money but it comes with a poster or something. Backstage doc. In the end, people will pay for live music. And performers pay for the song itself. B2B.

There are two books you need. You’ve already gotten the title of the first one. That’s the first one you should read. When you’re done, the other is “The Natural Way to Draw” by Kimon Nicolaides. It’s weird to find something that can be so
