You miss the point; bandwidth from a single source != CDN. Hosting without a CDN would be extremely slow for people that were far (hops) away from DO. CDN's solve this, and other issues.

Rails 4, Grape, Postgres. We use unicorn; went from 3 workers to 30, though I've not had time to tune this since.

Yep, but it didn't help like this did. I don't have graphs for you I'm afraid.

It's made a massive difference to us; we've gone from 10 x 1x dynos to 2 x XL - it's done the following to our latency graph: http://i.imgur.com/BGKwGfp.png . Orange is perc99.

And how do you get the image to compare it? By requesting it, which means you have to ask for it from a server, thus identifying that the image has been loaded.

It's impossible to know if the content for a different URL is the same without fetching it first, your point won't work.

That's one of our aims; make it much easier to test for everyone, developer or not. No setup, no install, low maintenance!

If you're being hired to code, expect to be asked to code in an interview process.

Yes. I use them; the other bad thing you might read about is that to download encrypted stuff, you need to enter your password on their server.

For my laptop: I use backblaze for everything. I have timemachine setup on a small server (running zfs and snapshotting). I also use arq to backup more important stuff an extra time to S3. For servers with data, which currently is just post

This is dumb. If they need a secret, they request them using another key. Therefore they have access to all the secrets they would have needed anyway. What does this gain? It adds a ton of complexity and a major failure point.

We have the history of changes, but not diff-able. private/env/production.txt is not in git, however private/env/production.txt.asc is. It would be a pain to go through the diffs, but possible. Our production config has

GPG is fine, if you don't decrypt and then encrypt unless you're doing an update. So, why would it matter?

This looks cool, the only thing I don't like is that it uses (from what I understand) a single key, not one per developer. Is that planned at all?

This doesn't meet the principle of least privilege; developers don't need production access, do they?

Interesting, resig's approach doesn't work with continuous deployment, unless you want to decrypt stuff each build (which would be less secure). Ntnt's solution sounds awesome but imho over kill - a whole extra server?

Most (smart) phones have two mics for noise canceling. I would assume this only affects one.
