It really is a bummer... Pipelines look cool and straightforward but the bind operator is much more flexible and seems more adapted to the language's semantics.

What are you talking about? You don't need npm to run scripts and Node.js has a standard library.

> can be applied to improve start-up performance for web apps that ship __large__ JSON-like configuration object literals They don't say how large but clearly it's not going to be better for a 2 keys object like in the example.

Sounds weird to me too. I've been using FF as my main driver on mac, high sierra then Mojave and I never had this problem. If anything it's google chrome helper that often becomes crazy eating my CPU cycles for just 4 tabs.

This has been the case on the dev release for months but they've yet to merge it to stable. Sure it's disturbing at first but from a usability standpoint it seems vastly superior, especially for bigger screens.

I think the idea is to also abstract away the choice of elements in favor of familiar container names. Make it only class names and you're back to a simple CSS framework like tons of others already.

So basically you're abusing the fact that (modern) browsers treat unknown tags more or less as divs and built a small CSS framework with these names. I understand how that it can feel familiar to Swift devs, and also realized by readin

This is a fairly recent addition to medium I think, but I also hate it a lot. This kind of behavior can make sense on news sites that load another article when you get to the bottom of the page, but adding history entries for each header yo

I recently found out Edge has fairly decent epub reading mode and I've been wondering if they're going to keep it in the new version.

There's a link in the first sentence of the article. It would have taken you less time reading it than it probably took you to write this comment.

Woah what model of Shinkansen did you ride? Every trip I made on the Tokaido line had these wide rows large enough people can fit a luggage standing in front on their feet (and not in green cars). I'm 190cm too and Japan is the only co

That's not academic research but that's R&D. And the React team has shown they're very thoughtful about what they're building.

I thought the article was about how even small amounts of alcohol were bad for the health but there's just a line about it and no link to the study. The rest is about heavy drinkers, which seems like nothing new.

I've been working on a MBP (non touchbar) for a month now. Coming from years of using Windows I'm rather satisfied about the OS. The big issue for me is that it heats up an awful lot. The keyboard being thin makes me feel the heat

I've been aware for long that I know so little about org-mode so I had never imagined I could do such a thing. Love this idea for understanding a code base, I'll have to try this out.

May I ask what your launch options are? I've spend hours trying to wire up these two without success...
