What you say is true. I’m just not sure why that makes the comparison bad?

iBooks supports ePub and PDF, iOS supports MP3 and AAC and can play h.264 encoded videos. Apple sells music without DRM (just like Amazon) and videos as well as books with DRM (just like Amazon). Loading your own media without DRM is never

That’s one valid way of seeing it. I don’t share it. But a nice derail you did there.

Apple typically didn’t stand by stupid rejections. They made them, didn’t stand by them.

If you believe that Apple is making a lot of money with their App Stores, sure. But they don’t. Even with the absolutely massive iOS App Store. The Mac App Store is tiny in comparison. It’s just not Apple’s business model.

If there is a switch then there’s no problem. There would be no social battle. (Some people would be annoyed but that’s about it.) I can absolutely see Apple adding such a switch and activating it by default. It wouldn’t be a big deal. (Wel

Aren’t you a bit too sensitive? It seems to me like they are pretty clearly suggesting that a few MB don’t matter if you have a 2GB plan but also that things might be different if you have a different plan. All in all they seem to pretty cl

That’s useful. It doesn’t make the Courier any more a creation device than the iPad, though. That’s just absurd. The iPad is (also) for creation, the Courier would have been (also) for creation.

It didn’t work before iOS5. Now you can flag emails directly – which in turn stars them.

That would be a niche feature. I doubt many people can write shorthand.

I’m not sure what handwriting recognition gets you. I don’t know if you noticed but handwriting is slow. Much, much, much slower than any touch keyboard, especially a huge one like on the iPad.

Anandtech does awesome in-depth reviews but most of the stuff they are talking about is not relevant to the average consumer in the slightest. If other sites were all doing that many would not be relevant to their readers interests.

Ridicule and violent opposition may be a necessary conditions for something to be true (not sure whether I agree with that but that doesn’t really matter), but they are certainly not sufficient.

That depends on how exactly you use something, does it not? If you rarely use something but it takes up space all the time then that’s a problem, especially on a phone.

(Mail allows you to archive. Starring works, too. Labels map to folders, depending on how you use them that might be good enough or not. Search is pretty great with iOS5, not sure what Gmail is doing better there. From what I remember Gmail

So, uhm, what’s this meme all about? It has been mentioned here twice. What’s recess got to do with how good a school is? I’m from Germany and I have never heard anyone suggest that breaks are a bad thing. This seems completely bizarre to m

Here is a riddle: Why is that the case? Could it be because no one cares about Google TV? Hm? Maybe that’s the reason? Ability means nothing. Apple is where it is because its products actually work with consumers. That’s the nut Apple (and

I have no problem with your definition of owning. I disagree with it – but that’s not the point and it would be pointless to discuss this any further. I would prefer not to. On the facts (and not definitions) I do agree with you. Apple does
