Social science has exactly the same problem. More statistic classes are desperately needed.

Is that question important or interesting? It is what it is. A one terabyte hard drive that contains illegally downloaded data valued at 5 million dollars. By presenting the drive in a certain way (on a pedestal, with a title, …) certain pr

Thanks! That seems to be the problem. Perian is so useful, I don’t want to disable it just to use YouTube’s HTML5 player. I guess I will have to stick to Flash. (Or try again with ClickToFlash or something.)

You must all really have very inflexible parents. My parents are very non-technical (when it comes consumer electronics – my dad can engineer a kick-ass water supply infrastructure for you if you need it) and generally clueless about many t

I don’t think so. I have no problem playing YouTube videos on (Apple’s) mobile devices. The experience there is smooth and they use h.264.

Has anyone else huge problems with YouTube’s HTML5 player on the desktop? You can test it out if you activate it at http://youtube.com/html5 . Be sure to watch a video without ads, only those will use the HTML5 player. I’m running OS X Lio

I think you didn’t understand me. That’s not what matters. There is no need to count continents. It’s unnecessary. If you know every property of something it’s not necessary to ask whether it really is a continent or not. There isn’t even

People I don’t want to date: Anyone who gets hung up on arbitrary definitions and is ignorant of other cultures. That questions seems to be a pretty good filter, just not for the reasons he thinks it is. (As I child – not in school but befo

That … seems stupid? And I don’t really think that can be true. I don’t even have a credit card (like many Europeans I only have a bank card) and I’m also not enthusiastic about giving my payment information for just using something or even

With the Israeli government? Or with Israelis in general? Not doing business with Israelis because you disagree with policies of their government seems nonsensical to me.

That’s nice but also the one negative point about Apple Stores. They are usually packed and many people want to buy something, too many to really handle without a line – yet there isn’t one place where a line could form, which tends to lead

The main barrier for this are Wikipedia’s authors and editors. Many would feel that Wikimedia is trying to make money off their work – no matter whether that’s a justified view or not. Wikipedia risks alienating large numbers of their autho
