What's Linux got to do with anything? Gnome and KDE run pretty nicely here on FreeBSD, and I'm sure Unity could fairly easily if anyone actually wanted it.

Well, you can do that already (with optional Facebook integration), so I wouldn't have thought they'd take that away. Especially since there are lots of existing paid accounts which aren't connected to Facebook.

Spotify already does all of this (with Facebook integration, too). The new feature is supposed to be synchronisation (listening to a song at the same time as your friend).

Pandora is available in Spain? I was under the impression it was USA-only. When I try to access it from here in the UK, the message reads: We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access

It's a shame this doesn't work for unlimited accounts. You'd have thought they wouldn't mind that, since unlimited has no ads either.

Why doesn't it just not play any sounds, then, instead of refusing to start the game? (FF4, no flash)

That one doesn't require Chrome, but it does require Flash! I'm pretty sure FF4 supports everything that's needed to run a game like this, out of the box.

Try different music? Anything without words is good when you're working - I lean towards ambient or chillout. Not that I don't like heavy music, but as you say, it doesn't really work as something to have on in the background.

Someone actually just submitted a pull request to fix this on Github, which is now merged :-) I just cloned the source and compiled it successfully on Debian, and it all seems to work alright (I can't get hello_world.cc to crash.) If it hap

It doesn't automatically send back any cookies the client sends, only the ones that have been modified by the application code (eg. via Request.Cookie("name", "new value")). Making the parser split input lines on both "\r\n" and "\n" is a g

It's possible - I can't say I gave it much consideration, I just used automake because I knew about it and it's widely available. I shouldn't need to include autogen.sh or require people to have automake/autoconf installed to build it, but

I support epoll and IOCP, too, and I don't consider event handling something complicated enough to justify bringing in an external library. I quite value the freedom of dependencies Lacewing currently has (except the obvious OpenSSL, etc -

Yes - the actual HTTP parsing code was written a long time ago, and I'd been meaning to improve it. Thanks for the links.

Hey, mine does SSL and file uploads. ;-) The advice about developers being better off with a better tested server is very true, though, of course. I hope Lacewing might fit into that category one day, too.

It would certainly be interesting to try - do you know if kqueue is available on iOS? If not, I guess the only thing to do would be writing a select() or poll() fallback for the EventPump class. I might have a look at it sometime. Having sa

Thanks, that's really nice to hear! :-) Some parts need improving, mainly because of how long I've been working on it - there were many gaps in my knowledge when I started. I don't think I've learnt so much from any project!

Hmm, looks nice :-) At a glance, I'd say it looks both more lightweight and more high-level than Lacewing (Lacewing won't host anything at all unless you add in a handler which calls SendFile or whatever, whereas Mongoose seems to have a co

Yes, I've used it on both Windows and OS X, as well as Linux and FreeBSD servers. It uses IOCP on Windows and kqueue on OS X. There's a project file in the 'msvc' folder which should build out of the box on Windows - on OS X you probably ne

This webserver is the most complete part of a high-level, cross-platform networking library I've been working on. The rest of the examples: https://github.com/udp/lacewing/tree/master/examples ajax.cc is probably the most interesting -

I still don't understand why the referendum is on AV and not PR. Most votes get thrown away because of this silly county-based system. If you live in a county which is heavily weighted towards a particular party, you do not have a meanin
