Exactly, the same thing happened with mobile a few years ago and it just didn't click with me. There was a bubble of mobile developers, apps and firms. I can recall at least 4 such firms that placed all their bets on mobile projects, a

OK, so if I want to use a calendar Stencil (there will be lots of this for sure), which depends on Moment I would have to include Moment into my dependencies and manage all the dependency clashing (the stencil used 2.x but I'm using 1.

Great, that makes so much sense. But then, how about other dependencies that might come into play? For example, underscore, is that "packaged" with this generated JS file or some other way around? Thanks for the prompt response BT

I'm not sure I'm understanding the point behind this. If the main point is to allow people to reuse components (i.e. a calendar widget) across frameworks, then good, but it's going to be quite messy when things start to get c

Got an eBook reader from Sony a few months before they totally abandoned their store and now all I've got is an outdated product. OTOH, it works quite well with different formats. Great hardware, so-so software, crappy post-sales servi

You're right, not everything can be tested, specially on frontend jobs. Like, "if you scroll too fast the elements are displaced". How the hell you write a unit test for that?

Right, my current title is "solutions architect" which has no meaning outside of the context of software. If someone, non-IT asks me, I'm a software developer.

That might be for the English term. On romance languages, ingeniero/ingegnere/ingénieur is based on the "ingenio" root, so an engineer is someone who uses their wit to build/solve something.

OTOH, the same principles behind civil engineering apply today and 10 years in the future, which means it can be regulated. Just think what this would mean for software, taking into account the iPhone is 10 years old.

The thing with Javascript is that, although the language may suck, it is a great ecosystem and platform to build on. It's what Java always dreamed of: build once, run everywhere. Literally! (Well, except for Node, but mostly) Don'

It already has. And you forgot on your list that JS makes your SmartTV, STB, Xbox, PS, Wii, and many more platforms work. An example, Netflix for all those platforms is made with JS. You've also got react native and Cordova for mobile.
