True, they are not done and moving. But what you did with them 20 years ago still works today. And what you do with them today, likely still works in 20 years. Exceptions obviously exist, though.

Vue uses @:[]. in their attributes and these are valid HTML attribute syntax. HTML attribute syntax only disallows SPACE"'>/= and some specific code points. Everything else is valid syntax. https://vuejs.org

The difference is not what you write, but what ends up in your user's DOM. You can still use custom components in your static site generator or in your backend code. Abstract it however you want. You could use React Server Components
