NYC is strict, if you see tents or mattresses you ring the city and they'll take it away within a few hours. https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-02253

What about tasks you do that aren't paid "work". Ie sitting at my desk writing code in the office is relatively easy. Looking after small children, chores around the house, arguing with family, helping with homework is much m

I heard a theory that college towns are desirable because of the educated population, but also they're designed to be compact and walker friendly, which is rare these days.

Does anyone know the margins on these lenses? I'm guessing theyre low volume high markup. I get that they're precision instruments but a few grand for some polished glass seems high.

What would be great is some way to codify all this advice. Eg run PG in a Data Warehouse mode. Databases are too big and too configurable and without specialist DBAs any more most people are just guessing what works best.

Probably higher. I'm not saying I'm struggling, I'm just trying to get some push back on property taxes and how toxic they are. When I was laid off the taxes are a huge burden. I have a mortgage that fixed for 30 years, but p

Here in NJ we're getting screwed by property taxes. 2-3% per year! Try doing that when you're out of work or on social security. Its one of the main reasons people leave.
