This looks like open source Delphix using Postgres. It even seems to be using ZFS under the hood. Any comments from people using it? I designed a CI system using Delphix at an old client and it was awesome!

Finding a way to avoid red tape seems like a massive cost and time saving. I remember seeing something similar with The Boring Company. Avoiding red tape by getting the city to agree the depth was great enough to not need look into environm

You talk about "community"is there likely to be any messaging between users? This would be great for my nephew (12) but his parents obviously aren't keen on him getting any internet messaging.

SO used to offer their database of q&a for download. Has that changed?

Doesn't use many of the advanced features though e.g. RAID is done using standard Linux mdraid with a btrfs partition on top of it.

Not necessarily true. For example the enterprise I work in doesn't allow saving chat history. This makes email better for technical discussion that needs recorded.

That's common behaviour for a TV signal called "overscan". As you thought, it seems to be disabled if it knows a computer is connected. You can sometimes disable it in TV menus and most HTPC software has something to resize t

Sorry, late to reply! The warranty differences are things like with enterprise they'll send you a new one as soon as the SMART data suggests it's going to fail. Consumer is usually you post it back and they send you a new one.

I think mainly warranty, although other posters are saying enterprise drives have capacitors to help with writing during power loss. I'd have thought a good battery backed raid controller would handle this but "enterprise"=&q

Random reads are an order of magnitude slower so for fast access there's a notable difference. Still a role for hard drives with sequential reads/writes, such as the regular backups they should have been taking! Slower in all area

Surely a battery backed raid controller would be enough? That's how we did it with spinning drives in the past.

This can be replicated in consumer drives by underprovisioning.

Consumer SSDs can absolutely be the right choice in some situations. Great for scrappy development environments or things that are refreshed regularly like running ETL migration runs. I'd advise underprovisioning them by 10% and keepin

Can you clarify why? Surely they are just normal batteries with a charging circuit? I'd have thought it was more a problem with "pass through charging" where the battery needs to discharge (RPi) and charge at the same time.

I think Republic of Ireland not wanting to leave is "stopping them". They're much more integrated into Europe than the UK too. Have the euro for example.

Bat and robbing - impact one person. Cheating on emissions [1] - impact 1200 people? Not to mention willfully flouting the law. They need to set a precedent. [1] http://news.mit.edu/2017/volkswagen-emissions-premature-

Perhaps they're focusing on other things? Motorsport has always been about advertising, maybe they don't see an advantage in that at this time.

Perhaps getting down downvoted by people who expect Tesla may have thought about this. I remember reading the overheating was due to the regenerative braking trying to push power back into the battery so it was getting hard charged and disc
