I agree on the shotgun marriage of the various modes. It was super disconcerting, as a Claude desktop user, to get a sudden redesign and push to something I will never use on my personal laptop. Also Big +1 that they need to do a clean laun

I think the most productive thing is: 1. Read rules about not using AI 2. Reflect upon and understand why they exist 3. Develop software however the f*ck you want 4. Ensure it is high quality 5. Open a PR 6. Don’t tell anyone (i.e. don’t do

When people are trying to afford living, “price transparency” is not the most helpful thing a government can provide. I agree that Prop 13 is god awful.

If rents can’t rise quickly, then the expected profit of a building goes down, which means prices for land go down, which means it is cheaper to build, which means it balances out. If the balance is far enough off that everything turns into

I live in NYC, which has rent control, and the idea that a landlord would otherwise lower rent is hilarious. Landlords raise rent by the max allowed because they can. There is no “catch up” because the purpose is to protect renters against

Entirely depends on your district. There are many districts where it doesn't matter, especially with gerrymandering. Better to volunteer for a swing district. You can write letters or fundraise from home, anywhere in the country.

It’s part of the scene. Like the people saying all companies should embrace copyleft or everyone’s mom will embrace GPG in emails or every GUI application would be better in tmux. It’s an open tent. IMO it’s good to know these types of thin

Agents aren’t made for deterministic workflows. Note that the recommendations for determinism are things like adding scripts to hooks. Where an LLM with “run lint every time a subagent completes their task” might do it 99% of the time, a ho

As someone who has conducted a ton of systems design interviews, the "I used these tools at my last job so I will use them for this completely different problem" is bamboozling. OTOH, there are advantages to comfort picks. You kno
