This is so sick. I agree that it’s a little lame that we have all these AI capabilities right now, robotics improving, and all we can think of making is humanoid robots. Like I want a spider/squid hybrid robot running around my house

I’m not sure I fully understand the rationale of having newer mini versions (eg o3-mini, o4-mini) when previous thinking models (eg o1) and smart non-thinking models (eg gpt-4.1) exist. Does anyone here use these for anything?

The “as” does a lot of work in the headline: hints causation but doesn’t say it (because it can’t!)

Notably for serving Chinese devices (not in the US). It looks like they’re going with Alibaba instead.

Interesting article. I think the author though is describing pretty normal market dynamics and seems to be responding to advice from people with more enterprise-y backgrounds. Most B2B SaaS markets have the enterprise players (who nail sale

Yes but why would investors on the board who own a piece of OpenAI at 157B be ok with a sale at a smaller valuation?

This. Most users don't care about what model has the best benchmarks on twitter.

ChatGPT is an extremely successful consumer product. Looking at Search traffic alone indicates they clearly have large brand value. Usage doesn't just depend on just benchmarks for most consumers.

Notably a steep discount from their recent raise at a 157B. The board would never approve.

True, though the lack of Stack Overflow / internet use during interviews has always been a critique as they've never seemed fully tied to the experience of the job.
