This reminds me of when I first discovered the Win32 API and used it to write some silly annoying apps in Borland C++ Builder. This was around 1998 and the worst I ever came up with was a persistent pop up that was difficult to remove due t

I also have a 2018 MBP and I agree the Framework keyboard is a HUGE improvement over the 2018 MBP keyboard.

I also was skeptical though I had a feeling after chatting with some of the team that they would deliver. I didn't expect the level of polish in terms of customer experience--e.g., packaging, instructions, etc. Like you, I am also very

I personally dig the resolution. I run at 200% and have the fractional scaling toggled off. It works for me but I am primarily editing text files. If you're doing anything graphically intensive, I don't really have any anecdata.

I do and I also own a number of MacBooks. The trackpad is solid but not quite to the level of an Apple product, at least when I'm running Ubuntu. I imagine as drivers improve over time it will only get better. I personally dig the disp

I am currently using the DIY version running Ubuntu. I absolutely love this laptop. It had been awhile since I built a computer (let alone a laptop). The DIY kit instructions and the construction of the machine itself are very well thought

I don't know if you would be interested in it but I currently own yaynay.io and would happily transfer it to you at cost. I had originally hosted a failed side project there and it has since been rotting away. Feel free to email me at

Just a friendly nudge toward the physical copy. Just imagine that fresh book smell! Full disclosure--I bought the physical copy. I am excited for these illustrations and the layout looks fantastic.

I use it for zoom daily. Yesterday was the first day in awhile where I had difficulty completing a call. The handoffs now last only about a second or two. Previously they’d be 15 or so seconds but that hasn’t happened for over a month. It i

I absolutely love your perspective. I feel the same way. s/Ruby+Rails/node for my situation. I believe there needs to be more respect paid to "bad" technologies. The measuring stick should include things outside pure ben

It's incredible how many companies exist solely to collect (and sell?) personal data. I was ignorant to just how wide spread bits of my data were until I fired up Optery. It was sorta shocking to see all the results.

For recording your work, I've built a simple language and some libraries around it: https://traindown.com . I am hoping to add some additional I/O utilities like "export to csv". I'd love any feedback you

I completely agree. I never understood the argument of docs getting out of sync. If an organization prioritizes documentation then the comments are just as likely to stay in sync as the variables.

That was also my progression! The end of the road was the C++ AP test my junior year of high school. I believe we were the last year of the C++ test with Java being used after that.
