I'm using Chrome on OSX and the color value was highlighted red in the source, so I immediately looked at that.

Full stack/front-end dev here. If any folks are interested in working on this idea, I'd be up for exploring the feasibility of the project & how we could work together. Contact info in my profile.

I'd really like to know how Fred's shared plan bill is $2000/month for what seems to be a family of four.

Let's be clear: web site != web app I think the author forgot to check out the noted companies' other web properties...

FWIW, building this out with a Pi is a trivial task and would probably end up much cheaper/more flexible in the long run.

I'm disappointed to see they're already on to offering free wifi elsewhere when the network they installed in Mountain View still suffers terribly. I've never seen it operate better than barely usable/non-existent. Hopef

Agreed -- the post had a very bitter/almost jealous tone. I'm not sure this writing would accomplish more than simply putting your head down and continuing to build the products you claimed are already much better.

Steve Klabnik runs Hackety Hack ( http://hackety.com/ ) which is supposed to encourage and teach new programmers, but this is the shit he says to other developers in the wild? Nice.
