Flu vaccines are effective — but the government has to try to predict which specific strains of flu will be active that season. If they mispredict, you might get the flu despite having the vaccine since you got a different strain. For COV

One way Herb Sutter looks at it is — most advanced programmers could probably write a Python or a Java interpreter. It might take them a few years, and they might struggle with some complex language features like metaclasses, reflection, o

Other languages are definitely less complex — you generally don’t see language lawyering for Python or Java — but I think that there are many useful features in C++14/17/20 as well. Writing only C++11 will lead to suboptimal code.

SFF build will not cost you more, unless you custom watercool it. Custom watercooling is only necessary if you're going for a super optimized build. SFF cases are around $250-300, which is $150-200 more than a similar-quality ATX case.

1) It's useless to reason about the performance of generated assembly unless you use -O{1,2,3}. Another commenter says that they're surprised std::move isn't inlined; that's because -O{1,2,3} isn't passed. 2) If you

No, the $100,000 commitment represents the opportunity cost compared to a higher paying job. That is, if the distinction is between: 1) $150,000 + 0.1%, or 2) $250,000 Picking (1) would equal trading $100,000 for 0.1%.

This is a non-story. In most cases, there is no point asking for a phone number as 2FA if the user chooses Sign in with Apple (SIWA). SIWA requires access to the device. App credentials are usually persisted per device, so 2FA doesn't
