Wow, lots of great features. The progress on these tools lately is awesome. One little feature I'd _really_ like to see is F12 as a keyboard shortcut to open the dev tools, I'd like that consistency with Chrome & IE.

There are a couple of excellent videos on developers.google.com that dig into this a little bit. I highly recommend watching the following video where two Google developers analyze some real world sites and fix the performance issues: http

This is true, though I do believe it is a lot more stable than about 12 months ago(?) It reminds me of Go a couple of years ago, but that had "go fix" which would mostly update your source files to the newest revisions. That made

Ah, very interesting. Thanks for posting that. Looks like I have one more reason to dig into Rust.

I'm feeling the same way, Rust looks fantastic. There are a few things in the language I'm not huge fan of, I don't like overly subtle things in a language. For example, some of the functionality around semi colons seem like

We use per-project work spaces too and it has simplified a lot of things for us. The biggest reason for this is that our projects aren't just Go based, their are other languages in there, many different file types. Building the project

What happens when products are loaded with JS after the initial load? For example, maybe the user presses a "Load More" button, or the site uses infinite scrolling, etc. Do you guys handle that in any way? I'm not trying to t

Yes, in the documentation they are selling that as a feature. One of the Snipcart's strength is that you do not have to enter your product inventory anywhere. Most of the time you will always have an inventory somewhere or an existing

I can give a real example of this that happened to me. I have a Steam account. Many years ago I created it using a Hotmail email account. I never used Steam for a couple of years. One day last fall I decided I wanted to do a little gaming,

Microsoft does this with Outlook/Hotmail, all accounts auto expire after 12 months. It's always struct me as a really big security issue. If you associate and account with one of these addresses and it expires, someone can come al

I absolutely love this. I'm jealous. I've been thinking about doing this, even if just once per year for 1-2 weeks. Some type of personal code jam, a chance to fully focus on personal projects distraction free. I just did some research into

I've clocked many hours into After Effects, but seeing this in a browser and _interactive_ is amazing. Never would I have thought that JS and browsers would progress so much in such a short period of time.

The big battle MariaDB (or any DB) is going to have is gaining ground in the shared web host space. That makes up a pretty large portion of websites, and there is no incentive for those providers to change. I'd love to see other DB options

That was unfortunate, mostly because a single compiler flag brought the code base way down, smaller the JQuery. If I recall correctly, that mistake was from a blogger, not Google, but it caught the bad publicity winds. Somebody was more eag

My understanding is that the entire API ver 1 is being depreciated in 6 months, so yes. That endpoint will still exists in ver 1.1, but requires authentication, and is subject to the rate limits associated with that.

I love it. I looked into doing this a while back with one portion of the business model being Amazon affiliate sales; you should be doing that. Not only is it good for you ($$$) as a user I want it too. Nice job!

The API was developed jointly by Adobe and Chrome, so its not Chrome or the API causing it, it's both parties wanting a better solution. It makes it cheaper for Adobe to support more platforms with less development hours. Adobe has stated (

That's Adobes biggest problem, for so many people "Flash" means "browser plugin." They need to kill that notion, the Flash Player is just a part of the Flash platform.

Where'd you pull that idea out of? Google's not implementing the Flash player, only providing new API for the Flash engineers to build against, the same as they always have.

I'd love to see this, but WebGL is such a mess right now, my PC can hardly handle even simple stuff in it. It's just not ready yet. The average user can't get the same performance from HTML/Canvas/WebGL as they can with Flash/Molehill.

You mean they won't work on iOS phones, that's like 2% of the web browsing market. Not to mention iOS HTML5 support is shit.
