Mistral AI seems to be doing fine with their models. A public domain model is also something I would consider donating money to for training.

I wonder if it would be possible to use DXVK here for windows guests to play those unruly games. That is have a pass through direct x driver in windows that sends all the commands to dxvk which either sends the image back to the vm or rende

The biggest reason for banks to exist is too provide "grease" for the economy, i.e. to connect people with money to people who needs to borrow :) Most banks here don't handle the actual payments themselves except the biggest

Cash is not illegal here, in fact shops are required by law to also accept cash. However the homeless problem is virtually non existent in this country, same with the lack of id. It's just so much more convenient to use digital payment

I live in Norway. My kids got a card at around 5, but they are older now. Not with visa/mastercard of course :)

Children and old people here all use cards or apps. And derisking is illegal, so you have to provide a bank account and cards to anyone who wants. The high risk customers just need more follow-up on terms of AML.

I work in a bank and cash handling is a major headache in terms of internal control, logistics, reconciliation and AML. It's a large extra cost. It is much cheaper for the bank and customers to use cards, but where I live the banks own

Seems like this is aimed at Palworld, and in that game at least one of the points is to get your pets to do the work for you. Of course, you have to grab the initial rocks/brances for yourself :) I'm not so much into this game mys

Du you have any historical examples of taxation policies resulting in a "dark Sovjet reality". I'm actually curious here.

TLDR; The latest security update for windows 10 is failing en masse and Microsofts only fix is to shrink your main partition and resize the recovery partition.

Nice! The opening graphics gives me a bit of bluewave vibes. Now if HN could implement qwk/rep support :)

Speaking of Danish (and Norwegian), ChatGPT has quite large issues separating the two. Often it will insert random Danish words into the text when I write the prompt in Norwegian. The languages are quite similar when written, but it does th

The vast majority just run out of the box with steam now, often with better performance than windows. Quite a few that use other launchers are "plug and play" installs with lutris (like WoW).

I still have 4-5 of them in reserve, it's the mouse that fits my hands the best by far. And they all still work :) It's the best HW microsoft has made I think, complete opposite of the horrible "magic mouse" by apple.

You can do stupid things with "memory safe" languages too, and nothing protects you from misconfiguration. The bsd approach of just locking it down seems to be to be at least as secure if not more to me.

Tesla actually has reasonable pricing for the battery replacement. Part of the price you pay for the car is what we in Norway called "pant", so when you replace the battery this price is subtracted since it's the price tesla

I second this. For some type of applications, the 4 model can quickly ramp up costs, especially with large contexts and 3.5 often does the job just fine. So for many applications it's the real competitor.

I think it is a bit muddled as the term we use for viking today comes from the verb (in modern Norwegian) "å dra i viking" which is a term used back in the days as seen from the sagas. I see it is mentioned in the article too. How
