Other than documentation (where I agree!), those are for communicating desired actions (primarily) to a machine. A blog post is for communicating (primarily, these days) to humans. They’re not the same audience (yet).

Apparently, 25% of Americans over age 50 are millionaires by wealth, and so if you don’t expect those figures to go down, your odds of living to be a millionaire are pretty good! https://www.fool.com/retirement/2024

Sorry, what is the argument that when a company refinances debt—replacing current cash obligations with larger future cash obligations—they’re not going to use that current cash flow to build something new, or at least hire more people than

Why do you think large companies refinance debt? So they can invest in productive areas of the business. If debt refinancing became illegal or widely impractical due to an interest rate spike, you’d quickly see how much of the productive ec

The child tax credit phaseout for a married couple is at $400,000 AGI. There are massive tax deductions and credits available to the middle class (and beyond!) for health care, child care, education … Transfer payments aren’t just for the d

Conversely, has Oxide discussed in depth how they see GPU compute? I’m guessing for their current target market of existing enterprise software it doesn’t matter, but the ownership and economics stories are at least as compelling for matmul

If this is meant to truly calculate the wage someone needs to live, it should at least attempt to assess transfer payments from the government, the same way it estimates living costs.

This has been posted many times before, and AFAICT it’s fundamentally misleading, as it doesn’t account for transfer payments (refundable tax credits, food stamps, housing vouchers, ACA subsidies, …) That artificially inflates the “wage lev

The bear case for Workday is not that it gets replicated as slop, but that its “user base” becomes dominated by agents. Agents don’t care about any of Workday’s value-adds: Customizable workflows, “intuitive” experiences, a decent mobile ap

It seems like you’re right, but it’s strange that the data world seems to be moving in the opposite direction, with PaaS products like Snowflake, DataBricks, Microsoft Fabric, even Salesforce’s own Data Cloud eating the world.

Great list. Another tell is pervasive use of second-person perspective: “We’ve all been there.” “Now you have what you need.” As you say, this is cargo cult rhetorical style. No purpose other than to look purposeful.
