Kanye West makes no claims about being a gangster. In fact, when his music first became popular, it ushered in an era of non-gangster "backpack" rap, at a time when "I've been shot 6 times" 50 Cent was on top of the

That's not going to save you from failing to capture key records, or capturing them incorrectly. You do have a point about manual testing being just as effective as automated testing, just a lot more time consuming.

No, this is not the expectation at all. Software developers should be paid for their work, but (sorry Hacker News) of all the popular funding models "VC-funded free service"(1) is the most hostile towards its users. 1 http:/

DHH, the author of this post and Rails itself, is and has been actively campaigning against client-side applications, as they clearly undermine his server-side ecosystem.

Not to be pedantic, but the Cluster API uses forked workers, so it's technically a multi-process model, each process with its own single thread. AFAIK there is no threading support in node.js. Not today and not ever (?).

It seems like such a massive optimization over the driver-and-gas-truck-around-town solution, that when I think more long-term, it just feels inevitable that this technology will be everywhere, even though I had the same reaction as you. &q

I'd say Walmart needs a high-load solution, as does paypal and LinkedIn who are both using node. Static vs dynamic languages both have merits and are almost completely subjective, but I'd say it comes down to team quality. Don

It really doesn't matter if the author / artist intended it or not, if people together find a deeper meaning and talk about it, that's perfectly valid.

I guess I am being vague, because my argument distills down to simple optimism vs. pessimism. I can't argue what is not known. We don't know what tomorrow's energy sources will look like. We don't know how to sustain two
