jquery was an unoptimised mess? it's like 30k minimised and just bridged a bunch of functionality that browsers lacked as well as providing a generic api that let you (often) ignore per-browser implementation and testing of your code

i tried wireguard and ended up giving up on it, too many isps just block it here or use some kind of tech that fucks with it and i have no idea why, i couldn't connect to my home network because it was blocked on whatever random wifi

yeah, i have a couple older machines and tried xfce and it wasn't really worth it memory wise, sure xfce is probably lighter but it's easily less than 100 meg difference

In actuality websites just have to do something, not use an id. Most of them currently just want you to upload a story then use ai to guess your age, it's as accurate as you might suspect if you're very sceptical

I've never struck any off these problems, and in order to use the tools he suggests I'd have to switch out the systems I use that just support markdown I sometimes make documents that require more complex formatting, so I use html
